Clodagh & Alistair’s Autumn Wedding at Markree Castle
Clodagh and Alistair celebrated their wedding at Markree Castle surrounded by the rich colours and atmosphere of an Irish autumn. With both preparations taking place inside the castle, the whole day unfolded naturally in one beautiful setting.
Their humanist ceremony in the Chapel included candle lighting with both mothers and a handfasting ceremony, followed by drinks, time with family and friends, portraits around the castle grounds and speeches on Markree’s main staircase.
Autumn works beautifully at Markree. The changing leaves, warm tones of the grounds and historic interiors give the photographs a completely different character as the day moves from the Chapel into the evening celebration. You can discover more about

Why Autumn Works So Beautifully at Markree Castle
Clodagh and Alistair’s wedding shows a very different side of Markree Castle. In autumn, the colours around the estate become deeper and warmer, while the historic interiors give the day a rich and intimate atmosphere even when the weather changes.
One of the things I love most about photographing weddings here is how many options the venue gives us without needing to leave the estate. The Chapel, staircase, gardens, mature trees and interiors all create completely different photographs within the same wedding day.
