Lisa & Andy at Cabra Castle
Lisa and Andy celebrated their autumn wedding at Cabra Castle in October, with both of them beginning the day at the castle before travelling separately to their ceremony. After the ceremony, they returned straight to Cabra Castle to make the most of the remaining daylight and enjoy time with their family and friends.
Their photography was centred around natural moments and relaxed portraits, using both the castle grounds and its characterful interiors. Their wedding is one of the real celebrations featured in my Cabra Castle wedding collection.

An Autumn Celebration at Cabra Castle
Lisa and Andy began their wedding morning at Cabra Castle before travelling separately to their ceremony. Afterwards, they chose to return directly to the castle rather than spend time greeting guests at the church, giving us the opportunity to make the most of the remaining October daylight.
Their couple session moved naturally between the castle grounds and interiors. The priority was never to turn the afternoon into a long photoshoot. Lisa and Andy wanted plenty of genuine moments, laughter and photographs where they could simply enjoy being together rather than constantly looking towards the camera.
With around 170 guests joining them, the celebration continued through dinner and speeches before an evening sparkler photograph, first dance and music brought everyone onto the dance floor.

From Castle Interiors to the Grounds
Cabra Castle gives a wedding day several very different photographic settings without needing to leave the venue. Its interiors can work beautifully for quieter portraits, while the grounds give couples space for a relaxed walk and photographs outdoors.
Lisa and Andy’s wedding is a good example of how I like to use those locations without allowing photography to take over the day. The setting matters, but the people, reactions and moments happening around them remain just as important.
Cabra Castle and Markree Castle
Cabra Castle in County Cavan is part of the Romantic Castles of Ireland collection, together with Markree Castle in County Sligo. I photograph weddings at both venues, each offering a very different setting and atmosphere for a wedding day. You can also explore my Markree Castle weddings.
