A Destination Wedding at Markree Castle

Markree Castle wedding is one of those celebrations where the day can unfold naturally without constantly searching for somewhere beautiful to photograph. The historic interiors, gardens and surrounding Sligo countryside create very different settings within one wedding day.

This gallery follows a real celebration from the quiet anticipation of the preparations through an emotional first look in the garden, the ceremony and reception, and finally portraits in the evening light. Rather than turning those moments into a photoshoot, my approach is to let the wedding happen and photograph the people, atmosphere and small interactions that make the day personal.

For couples travelling to Ireland for their wedding, Markree works particularly well as a destination venue because so much of the experience can happen in one place. Guests can settle into the castle, enjoy the grounds and be part of the celebration without the day feeling fragmented.
