MARKREE CASTLE WEDDING, SLIGO
There isn’t really much I need to say about this beautiful Destination Wedding in Ireland of Haley & Dax! They are both from England, but decided to have their wedding in the beautiful Markree Castle, back in 2021. I absolutely loved the choice of the venue as Markree Castle has it all: amazing interiors, great food, it’s own on-site chapel and stunning gardens, just perect for a quick Bride & Groom session after Ceremony and before Reception. Entire day had an easy going party feel from start to finish with lots of natural, sentimental moments. It was very elegant but relaxed celebration and Haley’s style – just vow! She wore a stunning wedding dress and veil by Eva Lendel and completed the look with a pair of nude, Christian Louboutin shoes. She looked absolutely gorgeous!
The spiritualist ceremony took place in the Chapel on the grounds of Markree Castle which made a perfect background for all ceremony photographs. It was unplugged so all photos were captured only by myself: full of natural reactions of guests and raw moments. The ceremony was very traditional with vows, exchanging wedding rings, unity candels and ended with Celtic hand tying. As Bride & Groom are both an artists, music played a huge part throughout the wedding day, they had a fantastic trand band playing the music during ceremony and relaxed drinks reception. After a beautiful, personal ceremony we hung out on the gardens for some Bride & Groom portraits, met Roisin (Markree Castle’s, super friendly, Irish Wolfhound) and headed back for reception.
I absolutely loved how much soul Haley and Dax’s have put into details and decorations. The Markree Castle’s dinning room looked stunning with lots of candles, classic, green flowers and white, sleek, masterpiece Wedding cake.The Bride suprised the Groom with an absolutely stunning 2nd dress after the cutting of the cake and that was a perfect addition to the evening. It happened just before the first dance and YES – First Dance! I will never forget about amazing choreography that they’ve prepared together. It was so fun and energetic! What else can I add? Capturing Haley and Dax’s Wedding was an incredible experience. My aim was to capture all the fun of the day, mixing raw, natural moments with some beautiful portraits. I hope I managed to achieve that and what’s the most important – capture the bond and love between them!
