A REAL WEDDING STORY · DUBLIN, IRELAND
A Dublin Wedding with an Unexpected Story
Some weddings have a story that stays with you long after the day is over. Pink and Joe’s celebration in Dublin was one of them.
Travelling from San Francisco, they brought their family and friends together for a wedding in the heart of Ireland’s capital. Their ceremony took place at the historic Smock Alley Theatre, followed by a journey through Dublin and a lively reception at J.R. Mahon’s.
What made the day particularly memorable was an unexpected connection with the Minnesota Vikings, whose visit to Dublin became part of the couple’s wedding celebrations. But beyond that remarkable coincidence, this was a day full of personality, genuine emotion and the kind of spontaneous moments I love to photograph.
THE BEGINNING OF THE DAY
Wedding Preparations at The Grafton Hotel
The wedding morning began at The Grafton Hotel, right in the heart of Dublin. With the city just outside, Pink and Joe prepared for the day surrounded by the people closest to them.
From the carefully chosen wedding details to the quieter moments of getting ready, these early hours offered a lovely contrast to the celebrations that would follow.
Pink’s preparations also took us onto the hotel’s rooftop terrace, with views across the Dublin rooftops — a beautiful setting for the first portraits before heading towards Smock Alley Theatre.

THE FINAL CHAPTER
Dublin After Dark / A Wedding Night in the City
As the celebrations continued, Dublin offered one final backdrop for Pink and Joe’s wedding photographs.
Away from the energy of the reception, we stepped into the city
for a few quiet moments together. The evening light, Dublin’s streets
and the atmosphere of the city after dark created a different mood
from the photographs taken earlier in the day.
A little romance, a little spontaneity and a playful final moment
with Tayto crisps — a fittingly Irish ending to an unforgettable
wedding in Dublin.
A DUBLIN WEDDING TO REMEMBER
A Wedding in Dublin / A Story Entirely Their Own
From the historic surroundings of Smock Alley Theatre to the
lively atmosphere of J.R. Mahon’s, Pink and Joe’s wedding
was a wonderful reminder that the most memorable celebrations
are often the ones that leave room for the unexpected.
A couple who travelled from San Francisco, a city full of character,
and a day that unfolded in its own remarkable way.
It was a pleasure to document their Dublin wedding
as it happened — naturally, honestly and with all the
little moments that made it theirs.
DOCUMENTARY & EDITORIAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY
Dublin Wedding Photography / Beyond the City
I’m Wojciech Koza, a wedding photographer based in Sligo,
documenting weddings across Ireland.
My approach combines natural documentary photography
with an editorial eye for light, atmosphere and composition.
Dublin offers an extraordinary setting for a wedding.
Historic buildings, elegant architecture, lively streets
and the River Liffey can all become part of a couple’s story,
particularly when the day unfolds across several locations.
Beyond the city, Ireland offers an entirely different atmosphere.
From the landscapes and country estates of Wicklow,
including Powerscourt, to the character of castle venues
such as Cabra Castle, there are beautiful possibilities
for couples planning a celebration outside Dublin.
PLANNING YOUR WEDDING
Dublin Wedding Photography / Frequently Asked Questions
Is Dublin city centre a good location for wedding photography?
Absolutely. Dublin has a wonderful mix of historic architecture,
intimate streets, atmospheric interiors and riverside locations.
A wedding at Smock Alley Theatre, for example, can be combined
with natural portraits around the city without needing
an elaborate photography schedule.
Do you photograph weddings outside Dublin?
Yes. I’m based in Sligo and photograph weddings throughout Ireland,
including Dublin, Wicklow and the surrounding counties.
Whether you’re planning a city celebration, a countryside wedding
or a castle wedding, my approach remains focused on authentic
moments and thoughtful, natural photography.
Can you photograph our wedding in Ireland if we’re travelling from abroad?
Of course. I work with couples planning their weddings in Ireland,
including those travelling from the United States and other countries.
We can discuss your plans remotely, talk through the locations
and photography timeline, and make sure the coverage
reflects the kind of celebration you’re creating.
