A Colourful Hindu Wedding at Markree Castle
Reva and Nigel’s wedding brought extraordinary colour, tradition and energy to
Markree Castle.
Their celebration unfolded outdoors around a floral mandap, surrounded by family, friends and the gardens of the castle.
From Nigel’s arrival on horseback to the flower-petal exit after the ceremony, it was a wedding full of movement, detail and unforgettable moments.
The Wedding Story
Colour, Tradition and Celebration
The day began with preparations before guests gathered for the outdoor ceremony.
As they arrived, family members welcomed them with scarves while the gardens slowly filled with colour.
Nigel then made one of the most memorable entrances of the day. After walking towards the lake with his groomsmen,
he mounted a horse and travelled back along the central garden path towards the ceremony.
His groomsmen, each wearing colourful traditional clothing, made the arrival feel every bit as celebratory as it looked.
At the centre of the ceremony stood the mandap, a four-pillared structure traditionally used for Hindu wedding ceremonies.
Reva joined Nigel there before the ceremony began, surrounded by flowers, family and the grounds of Markree Castle.
When the ceremony finished, the couple left the mandap beneath a shower of flower petals.
Drinks, family photographs and portraits around the castle followed before speeches, dinner and an evening celebration that continued into the night.

in Sligo. Olga’s floral work is something I am always happy to recommend.
For Reva and Nigel’s wedding, the flowers became a central part of the visual story, framing the mandap with rich colour while still feeling completely at home within the gardens of Markree Castle.
