More Than a Beautiful Castle
I have photographed many weddings at Markree Castle over the years, in different seasons, different weather and with very different styles of celebration. That experience has given me a perspective on the venue that goes far beyond simply knowing where the attractive photographs can be made.
What I value most is how naturally the whole wedding day can unfold here. The castle, chapel, gardens, woodland and reception spaces all have their own atmosphere, while still feeling connected as one complete celebration.

Markree Castle is only a short drive from my home in Sligo. Photographing weddings here repeatedly means I know how the venue changes throughout the day rather than arriving with a fixed list of locations.
I know where the light works beautifully in the grounds, where couples can step away for quieter portraits, which interiors work when the weather changes, and how to photograph the castle without pulling a couple away from their guests for too long.
