Whether you’re dreaming of a romantic elopement or an intimate destination celebration, this iconic Irish castle is one of the most atmospheric venues in the west of Ireland. From candlelit dining rooms to historic stone staircases and secret gardens – Belleek Castle has it all.
Take a look at the full Belleek Castle Wedding Gallery where you’ll find inspiration from real weddings, including First Looks, ceremonies, speeches, portraits, and getting ready moments from different couples. I’m constantly updating it with new imagery to help you visualise your own wedding day here.
In this post, we’ll explore the most recent Belleek Castle Wedding I photographed, share a real couple’s story, and highlight some of the most beautiful corners of this unforgettable venue – all told through honest, artistic, and candid photography.

Belleek Castle Wedding Packages & Options
Belleek Castle offers flexibility for couples looking for something truly personal. Whether you’re planning a two-person elopement or a seated dinner for fifty, the team at Belleek knows how to create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and elevated.
Wedding packages can be tailored to your needs – from full-day celebrations with speeches and dancing to relaxed afternoons with just your closest people. There’s also room for symbolic ceremonies, civil weddings, and alternative timelines that suit your story.
Unlike larger, more commercial venues, Belleek Castle focuses on connection and authenticity. That’s what makes it one of the best choices for couples working with a Candid Wedding Photographer, a Destination Wedding Photographer, or someone who specialises in Documentary Wedding Photography.
Getting Ready & Interiors at Belleek Castle
Morning preparations at Belleek Castle feel like stepping into a film set. The rooms are filled with old-world charm – high ceilings, antique mirrors, carved woodwork, and rich textures that photograph beautifully in both natural and candlelight.
Whether you’re getting ready with your bridesmaids or having a quiet coffee alone, the castle gives you space to breathe. Every corner is filled with character – perfect for those timeless bridal portraits and emotional documentary moments.
If you’re working with an Art Wedding Photographer or a Dublin Elopement Photographer, you’ll quickly see why Belleek’s interiors are so loved. There’s no need for staging or artificial light – the atmosphere is already there, waiting to be captured.

Portraits & Hidden Corners Around the Castle
One of the most remarkable things about Belleek Castle is how many unique spaces it offers for portraits. You don’t have to go far – just step into the gardens, lean against the stone walls, or climb the grand staircase, and you’re in a cinematic frame.
We usually take a relaxed walk with the couple, using soft light and real emotion as our guide. No rigid posing, no pressure. Just a bit of movement and letting the moment unfold naturally. This approach is especially appreciated by couples working with a Candid Wedding Photographer or an Elopement Wedding Photographer Dublin.
From ivy-covered walls to candlelit archways, Belleek Castle has endless backdrops that are both romantic and raw. Want to see real examples from real weddings? The Belleek Castle Wedding Gallery includes portraits captured in all seasons, light conditions, and emotional states – from joyful laughter to quiet reflection.

Reception Moments & Real Emotions
The reception at Belleek Castle is always something special. The dim candlelight, long banquet tables, and dramatic architecture set the tone – but it’s the people who make it unforgettable.
There’s something deeply personal about sharing a meal in a castle steeped in history. Toasts echo off the stone walls, stories flow freely, and laughter fills the air. Whether it’s a best friend choking up mid-speech or a parent reaching across the table to hold your hand – these are the moments I focus on as a Documentary Wedding Photographer.
And even without a traditional timeline or grand entrance, Belleek Castle weddings always feel cohesive and emotionally rich. You can see examples of these storytelling moments in the updated Belleek Castle Wedding Gallery, where real couples celebrated in their own way – quietly, honestly, and with heart.

Dancing & After Dark Vibes
Once the sun sets at Belleek Castle, the whole mood shifts. The stone corridors glow with candlelight, the fireplaces crackle, and the dance floor opens up. Whether you’re having a big first dance or just swaying in a small group of guests, the castle becomes intimate in a whole new way.
There’s no need for over-the-top lighting or staged effects — the architecture and atmosphere do all the work. It’s the perfect time for your Dublin Wedding Photographer to capture real, joyful movement: a spontaneous spin, a tight hug, or guests clapping along with a glass in hand.
Some of my favourite frames come from this part of the night — when everyone lets go and the celebration becomes pure presence. You can find more after-dark inspiration in the evolving Belleek Castle Wedding Gallery — updated regularly with real dance floor moments and evening portraits.

About Me
I’m Wojciech Koza, a Destination Wedding Photographer based in the west of Ireland. My approach is honest, artistic, and relaxed. I work with couples who care more about real connection than perfect posing, and I believe in storytelling through moments — not instructions.
What defines my work is a calm, discreet presence and flexibility — especially important when working with international couples. I understand how meaningful it is when two cultures, families, or languages meet in one shared celebration.
You’ll most often find me photographing weddings in beautiful Irish castles and estates like:
- Markree Castle
- Cabra Castle
- Cloughan Castle
- Belleek Castle
- Barberstown Castle
- Dromoland Castle
- Kilkea Castle
- Glenlo Abbey
- Glin Castle
- and venues across Dublin, Wicklow, Galway, and Sligo.
Among them, Belleek Castle holds a special place in my heart — not just for its aesthetic beauty but for the energy it invites. If you’re planning something meaningful, beautiful, or completely different, I’d love to hear your story.
As Seen On One Fab Day
One of my recent weddings — a heartfelt, wildflower-filled day at Juniper Barn in Sligo — was featured on One Fab Day. With a woodland ceremony, golden hour portraits by the lake, and couples dancing barefoot on the lawn, it was a visual and emotional dream to document.

FAQ for Overseas Couples
Can we legally get married at Belleek Castle if we’re from the US?
Yes, but you’ll need to register with the Irish authorities at least three months in advance. The process requires official documents, including passports and birth certificates, and sometimes additional paperwork depending on your personal situation. Many couples from the US, however, choose to handle the legal part at home and enjoy a symbolic ceremony at Belleek Castle — which is entirely stress-free and just as meaningful.
We’re from the UK. Is it complicated to get married in Ireland?
Not at all. As a couple from the UK, the process is very straightforward. You’ll still need to notify the HSE (Health Service Executive) in Ireland at least three months before your date, and provide valid documents. If you prefer to skip the paperwork, a symbolic ceremony is a popular and beautiful option — especially at a venue like Belleek Castle.
Can we bring our own celebrant or officiant?
Yes. Belleek Castle is open to both religious and non-religious ceremonies. Many couples bring their own celebrant — especially for symbolic weddings. I’ve photographed weddings led by celebrants from the US, the UK, and Ireland, and each brought their own unique tone to the day.
Is there accommodation at Belleek Castle for us and our guests?
Yes — Belleek Castle offers a number of beautifully restored rooms that can accommodate you and your closest guests. It’s perfect for small weddings and elopements. There are also nearby hotels and B&Bs within Ballina for additional guests. Most of my couples use the castle for getting ready, the celebration, and overnight stays, keeping everything in one place.
What’s the best time of year to get married at Belleek Castle?
Every season brings a different atmosphere to Belleek Castle. Spring and summer offer long days and blooming gardens. Autumn brings warm light and cozy tones inside the castle. Winter weddings are intimate, candlelit, and incredibly romantic. I’ve photographed weddings here all year round — and there’s no wrong season, only different moods.
Do we need to visit Belleek Castle before the wedding?
It’s not required, but if you can make a visit — even just once — it’s a great way to walk the space and feel the energy. However, many of my couples from abroad book Belleek Castle without ever seeing it in person. I’m happy to walk you through the layout, lighting, best portrait spots, and timeline suggestions based on your style and priorities.
Can you help us plan a timeline if we’re not familiar with the venue?
Absolutely. I work closely with couples and coordinators to plan relaxed, realistic timelines. Whether you’re having a legal ceremony or just a celebration, I can help you build a flow that allows for great light, real moments, and minimal stress — even if you’ve never been to Belleek Castle before.
