A Castle Wedding Dream – Molly & Ross at Markree

Lots of couples planning a destination wedding in Ireland have a vision of how it will be, and for Molly & Ross from Minneapolis, their celebration at Markree Castle was the dream come true. They took over this historic Irish venue with their guests and filled the day with love, laughter, emotional highs, and plenty of dancing until the early hours.

Their love story began at a CrossFit gym — Ross was the coach, Molly the athlete. After secretly dating, Ross proposed during a spontaneous mountain trip in Colorado, ending the day with a surprise dinner surrounded by family flown in from Minnesota. From that moment on, their wedding adventure began.

Molly looked stunning in her Pronovias gown, paired with nude sandals for a glam yet effortless look. Her bridesmaids wore mix-and-match green dresses by Jenny Yoo and Amsale — a perfect match for the castle’s fairytale atmosphere. “We just wanted everyone to have fun and feel like royalty,” Molly said. And that’s exactly what happened — from the meaningful ceremony led by Molly’s uncle, to the pint of Guinness enjoyed post-vows, every moment was filled with joy and intention.

The couple prioritized connection, food, and shared experience. “We’re foodies, and the meals were incredible. Everyone stayed on-site, so there was no need for transportation — it felt like one big family trip.” They added just a touch of cherry blossom decor to the already stunning reception room and let the magic of the place speak for itself.

After the wedding, they honeymooned across Ireland: Galway with friends and family, then peaceful nights at Ashford Castle, spa days in Killarney, a coastal drive along the Wild Atlantic Way, and a stylish finish in Dublin at The Merrion Hotel. “We didn’t want a beach honeymoon,” said Molly. “We wanted an experience — and Ireland gave us everything.”
